External GPUs for Gaming Laptop? (ASUS ROG G751JT)
Hello!
So I bought my G751JT back in 2016 and it STILL runs like a mmbeast. I'm very happy with it; when I'm not playing games I use it for designing, editing and animation. It has 2TB of storage, 24g RAM, and Intel(R) QuadCore(TM) i7-4710HQ @ 2.50Ghz. But I'd like to improve its graphics card, which is a GTX970m. Because I also bought a Vive Cosmos a few months back. It works with my G751JT just fine, but it still leaves much to be desired.
I only have a rudimentary understanding of PC hardware upgrading. I understand gaming laptops are NOT built to be upgrade-able, especially their GPUs. But before I lay down a bunch of bones for a new PC. Does anyone have experience or advice? Are there other options available? I've read about "bridges" and some laptops that use "external GPUs"
I'd appreciate any knowledge you can throw my way, thanks!
