Suggestion on upgrade

hi friends,
Well I am planning to upgrade my pc cant decide between the two AMD FX-4100 Zambezi 3.6GHz or AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Deneb 3.4GHz. , keeping in mind the cost factor which is more or less equal or 8 $ more for fx4100 in india and the fx having low power consumption along with great overclocking possibilities to the contrary x4 965 great performance on gaming true quad core peformance .I want to buy a motherboard at the range of 80-110$ either asus or gigabyte or rather any best suggestion and which ram to buy, is amd ram good to go http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100007611%2050001028&IsNodeId=1&name=AMD... for i need (2 X 4 gb) ram or should I go for corsair. please specify the exact model

My main consideration is gaming and bit of photoshop etc and normal daily use.Looking forward for your valuable suggestion.

Thanks,
Shaz

On of those, the second one have more option, look at them and check what you need as option.

ASUS M5A97

The UEFI BIOS on the ASUS boards is enough to suggest you go with one of the ASUS boards.

For gaming, I would opt for the 965 and an ASUS board.
The AMD memory is fairly new, I don't know anyone that has experience with it.
My first choice for memory has always been G.Skill, go with a 2x4GB set of DDR3-1600 or 1866.
Intel i9 10850K@ 5.3GHz
ASUS ROG Strix Z490-E
Corsair H115i Pro XT
G.Skill TridentZ@ 3600MHz CL14 2x16GB
EVGA RTX 3090 Ti FWT3 Ultra
OS: WD Black SN850 1TB NVMe M.2
Storage: WD Blue SN550 2TB NVMe M.2
EVGA SuperNova 1200 P2
ASUS ROG Strix Helios GX601

well yes actually since the product has been stopped in india too so not sure whether the retailer will provide me a healthy cpu as dont want to get into unwanted issue so was keeeping the fx4100 as an option as it has been latest launch as i was sure of buying the 960t zosma but its not available in india.

as u know that the service in india sucks big time even if a defect comes out they take a lot of time to exchange or provide a new product and as far as the ram is concerned may get this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231428 on asus m5a97 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131767

Thanks all for the suggestion, ended up buying x4 965, gskill ram 4gb X 2 ,but bought a lower end board asus m4a88tm for the time being, will wait to get my hands on radeon 7750 or 7790 depending on the cost here as soon available in india .It really diffiicult in india to get a good board only high end boards are available for now no good budget board tried for m5a97,asrock 970 extreme3 etc but to no avail.

anyways i am happy with my purchase for now

I believe you it was my problem too in Philippines ( only 1½ hour from Taiwan and China ) , but you seems happy, that's the most important.

yeah bro first the price is too much on the higher side in India , over here u wont believe this but everyday the price for product keep changing ,the dealer have all kind of excuses for the higher price and quality product is very difficult to get and if u get it u have to shred extra money.
it has been a hell ride for me searching for x4 965 and since the fx 4100 was not able to outperform x4 965
so really had hard time searching in market and finally got one paying around 10 $ more
