Issues with B450-F Motherboard (SATA Drives not enabling)
Hi,
I've recently put my PC Together as both a Media Server Via PLEX and a Gaming PC as I'm getting back into STO.
I've had issues with the motherbaord not registering the 3/4/5/6 SATA ports recently. Ihad it out of the box and ran into the issue straight away. Somehow managed to fix it but recently went through an issue with windows (new hardware not being recognised so thougt it was a dodgey version of windows) and since then only SATA 1&2 are working.
Ive read this is a common this with the B450 boards but I fixed it but now am unable to get all SATA ports working.
Has anyone got a BIOS configuration to help? It's a real issue seeing as I'm running 5 drives and could do before.
Thanks.

I believe those 4 ports are off the AMD chipset. Any chance you need to update or reinstall your chipset driver?
SATA 5/6 are disabled automatically if you have M.2_1 in x4 mode. You didn't mention your drive config but this may be not be the problem if it's all 4 SATA's from 3 to 6, unless you have it running in RAID (turn off in BIOS if you aren't).Davemon50

thanks for the reply,

*I’ve done a chipset update and adjusted the M.2_1 settings but it’s still not working right. Not for the life of me can I remember the adjustments I made last time. I remember updating the Bios through EZ flash but that’s all up to date.*
In regards to my SATA’s it’s;
1 & 2 are SSD’s
3,4 & 5 are HDD’s
All working before I had this windows update that made me repurchase windows 10 pro, then only 1&2 work. I’m baffled. *

I'm having the same issue I think.
I have the same board ROG Strix B450-F Gaming, and I do have an M.2 in one of the two places as my C drive. Does it matter which spot?
I noticed that only the first 4 Sata drives spots are working, and I have other than the M.2, 4 other drives. However, I also have a DVD player that I need to get going to install some programs on my newly installed windows. I only got this new MB and an AMD Ryzen 7 CPU last Sunday, and everything is working but this issue.
Also is it normal to be difficult to get into BIOS? I cannot get into the normal way when booting the system up. I had to get to it via some strange way within Windows 10.
So how does one fix the sata drive issue?
