G752VS Left Channel cuts out? Audio from Headphone Jack
Not sure why, but the left channel in headphone jack seems to cut out after a while, and the way to fix it is to pull out the cable, then put it back in.
Driver dropping the pole or something?
Anyone experienced this?

Turns out G752VS does not like 4 pole audio connections. Or rather, has grown not to like it anymore.

Hi Darnassus,
Expect your notebook speakers work fine and the problem is probably related to either the headphone jack socket in the notebook or maybe your headphone/headphone jack if you can check it on a different system.
There should be better information out there if you want to look, but if you didn't already know, the headphone jack socket in your notebook consists of different metal pieces that will contact different parts of the headphone jack when you plug it in, so you may want to try to shine a light into the socket and check the condition as best you can which may not be very easy to determine.
Maybe there is dirt or dust build-up , or some of the metal pieces inside the notebook audio jack have become loose or bent?
The article below has a picture of an audio jack socket although it may not be the same design as that used for the G752VS, but may give you some idea at least what may be going on.

Hi, thanks for the reply.
It just turns out it doesn't like 4 poles very much, the left channel must be very close to the microphone pole, so it hasn't got good contact area.
I use a brush to clean my ports with alcohol, so it's definitely not dirty.

Thanks for the update and if it works fine with 3-pole headphone jacks, that would appear to be the case.
If you have any interest, remembered there was a discussion about 4-pole headphone jacks with xeromist and another ROG forum member as below.
Can the mic AND headphones on apple compatible headsets be used on an Asus laptop?
