Update review on GL702ZC

After 17 months of use On high performance all the time I have it on.
Sometimes 10 hours a day everyday for 17 months.
I have to say I am disappointed with Asus overall design.
1600 bucks for something that didn't last long enough just felt like it wasn't worth the money.
I wish I could get my money back.what a waste.

I did attempt to have a expert friend fix it with reflow, but it did not last long.
Me putting it in my backpack and carrying it must of flexed the board and it stopped working after he fixed it.
So now I know what caused it.
BGA failure due to dust buildup and possible a bad loose sodder ball or a failing GPU.

I was impressed at first for the first 16 months but,now I think it wasn't all that great.

I hope they improve future AMD-Only designs to be more durable and more cool.
And I would like it to be less heavy.

I am going to try with 1100 bucks....by now it should be cheaper to repair it is 3 years old.

I expect lower prices after it is old.....

Used it on high performance for 17 months straight 10 plus hours a day every single day for that time...

I did not clean out the dust after the 12th month of use as much up until the 17th month, it died feb. 10th at 10pm ESt.

dust buildup caused BGA failure which contributed to death of machine.

I think, what I did with it and and the dustbuild up was part of the issue.
I had many random occurences where it would restart unexpectedly or have short moments of black screen with power led only.

this issue continued until it died on feb. 10th 2020....at 10pm. Est.

I believe it was bad sodder job with gpu connection to board, and that it continued to work up until the date mentioned before...

all the heating up and cooling down must have had a afferse affect on it.

I got in contact with the Ceo office of Asus some guy by the name of Ryan I.
They gave me shipping label and RMA number and are offering me discounts for repairs, due to the nature of my units cycle run and failure....mostly due to the defects aspect of the Gpu and sodder balls.

I went to fedex today and it is done.
Now I wait......
