Which is better to install
Intel lan driver : https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25016/Ethernet-Intel-Network-Adapter-Driver-for-Windows-10 or asus download of lan driver Version 12.18.9.7
Also the chipset
intel:https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/29227/Chipset-INF-Utility?product=98455 or asus version Version 10.1.18019.8144
IME driver
Intel: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/28679/Intel-Management-Engine-Driver-for-Windows-8-1-and-W... or asus version Version 1914.12.0.1256

Just not knowing as some of the version numbers dont match up with the intel versions

There is no "better" as your comparing 3 different drivers for 3 different types of hardware

The lan driver is for your LAN port only
The chipset driver is obviously only for the board chipset. Has nothing to do with LAN
The IME is for the intel management (security) firmware. Again completely different.

As such there is no best.

You must have just scanned his post. He is not comparing LAN to Chipset to IME drivers. He is comparing drivers from the Intel Download center to those listed on the Asus Support site for each driver type. Below I broke it up so it's easier to see. I have noticed this myself. The drivers listed by Asus are often earlier version numbers. Sometimes the version numbers aren't even similar.

LAN
Intel lan driver : https://downloadcenter.intel.com/dow...for-Windows-10 or asus download of lan driver Version 12.18.9.7

CHIPSET

I

IME driver

Sorry bout that. Thanks for clarifying it easier to see. Its like you say sometimes the numbers are not even in the sane century haha. When i first had the board i had aura sync and then got flare and gladius2 and ran armory 2 to run these separate from the main system. Now i see they have armory crate and aura creator. What to use for the lighting is beyond me now*

For those types of drivers i never use the asus ones. They're always behind. I always update them through the intel driver and support assistant. That way i'm guaranteed to have the best and latest.
