ROG G752VS screen problem

Take a look at the dxdiag.exe again, this time the Display Tab and use the slider to see more settings.

Here, though the sticker at the bottom of my laptop says G752VSK(KBL)-GC310T. It's really weird though, as it installed bios updates for the G752VSK while rejecting the latest update for the G752VS.

Anyway on a note related to the topic at hand, to test a replacement cable I must know: does this PC use a 30 or a 40 connector pin for the screen? I cannot find that information anywhere no matter how hard I look for it. It's a lot of work to disassemble a laptop and it's screen just to count the pins, but if there is no choice, I'll do it...

I agree, your model (G752VS (7th Gen CPU) should have the 304 BIOS installed.

Can you change your Current Display Mode to 1920 X 1080 (32bit) (120Hz)?

Go into the NVIDIA Control Panel and adjust the refresh rate:

Unfortunately you can't do 120, it seems to be capped at 75. If you try to force more the screen will just go black.

What does the NVIDIA GeForce Experience Settings look-like?

Almost if not totally identical. Geforce version is 3.20.3.63 and driver version is 445.87

Well I don't know what display you have in your laptop. You will need to get the part number off the display itself, then look for a source. As for the cable and number of pins, yes I think the only way to tell what cable you need is to get the part number off the cable or count pins.

What bothers me is your inability to change the refresh rate. That could be a problem with your GPU or even the NVIDIA software.

Have you tried to install the 304 BIOS?

Maybe its a refresh rate thing... Anyway I have the info. It's 30 pin but I think the connector for the motherboard is the same regardless of 30 of 40 pin, and that it only really matters when plugging into the screen on this particular model. This is a hot.take though, feel free to whip me if I'm wrong lol.

Okay so anyway, I took it apart and gathered all the necessary info. Below is all the useful data and then some.

Also, a little sidenote since I'm here already. Aren't the fans on the CPU and the GPU supposed to be different? Asus components seems to think so. In my PC they're the same fans, save foe some of the supports.



EDIT: Also no I don't believe I've tried installing the 304 bios... Should I get it from the VS(7th gen) support sote or VSK?
