Intel i9 7940X: I need Quick Sync
Hi, I'm using a software, Edius 9 that needs Quick Sync to export to h.265. I have Intel i9 7940X and I don't know if it has Quick Sync. How caould I check it? For me Quick Sync is important, but maybe my processor doesn't have Quick Sync because it is not of the latest generation.
I thank you for your suggestion.

Hello. 7940X i9 does not support QuickSync, nor do the top 20 reasonably priced processors. Nothing to do with the fact that your processor is from 2017. The latest 10940X i9 and 10980XE do not support it either. Usually, the CPUs that have Quick Sync support are the ones with an iGPU.
That said, you don't necessarily need a Quick Sync enabled CPU for hardware transcoding as you can use a GPU from either AMD or Nvidia.1. i9 10980XE @ 4.1/R6E Encore/256GB Vengeance RGB Pro DDR4 3200MHz/RTX TITAN/Dell S24217DG Surround/Kraken Z63/ Seasonic Prime 1200W/2TB 960 Pro Boot/2TBx4 660p Raid0 on Asus Hyper M.2 card Games/12TB WD Gold Data/SB A AE-5 + Logitech Z906/Win 10 Pro/ASUS ROG GT-AX11000.
