What are these drivers for? Are they any different from the ones from the ASUS support/driver website? I have an ASUS ROG Maximus Hero XII Z490 and installed the realtek audio drivers from the website. Do I need to install these as well?

    Hi,

These are the same WHQL audio drivers dedicated to your type of motherboard, packaged more cleanly (unbloated), and installed differently (the installation of the drivers is done differently and the applications are directly downloaded from the Microsoft Store and not included in the drivers package)

The main reason for using the drivers packages I offer is to always have the latest WHQL drivers (Realtek and Third Party), but there are other reasons as the installation method differs for these reasons :

    - Avoid install issue due to certain install conflict between drivers
    - Update elements of the drivers package without having to reinstall everything
    - Make an install Windows Update compatible
    - Make an install Armoury Crate compatible
    - Avoid double reboot during update
    - Avoid reconfiguring everything with each update

It's up to you, but if you want to use the drivers packages I offer here :

You need Realtek Audio Drivers (UAD - ASUS ROG/PRIME/TUF MB) from this thread. Follow scrupulously your INSTALL process with cleanup step, for the next drivers packages that I would release, you will can directly follow the UPDATE process.

Note (in order to choose correctly the install/update process to use) : You have a ASUS ROG SS3|DTS Sound Unbound motherboard.
