Hi,

It's an mistake from ASUS staff, however if you still want to update with the versions for X299 & Server (10.1.19263.8344 from Armoury Crate or the newer 10.1.19271.8345 from my X299 thread that I linked to you earlier) over the version you are currently using for your motherboard and its Z790 chipset, this will have no impact apart from the installer version increment, it's just that none of your chipset drivers will be updated because they are not included in these packages.

If, on the other hand, you are using a version for X299 & Server following a clean install of Windows, there is an impact and your chipset drivers will not be installed.

uninstalled the …*8341*version, restart, then installed as admin this version, restart and… nothing

^^^ Also installed, and i couldn't boot into windows and kept getting BSOD for "inaccessible drive" but then booted into safe mode and reverted back and all is good.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. And chipset drivers ain't real driver's. You don't need to update Intel Chipset drivers. If you don't see any yellow exclamation mark in Device Manager, then let it be as is. And please make an backup with Macrium Reflect Rescue thumb drive/similar backup solutions. You are back in windows within 3.5 min if your OS fail to load. You find USB thumb drives for below 20$.

I had some sparetime and tested the chipset driver 10.1.19284.8351 WHQL [20/10/2022]. Both on top of older driver and after a driver cleanup as the guide say. See post #281. https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthrea...e29#post856251

The OS don't load with this latest Intel Chipset driver on already running OS/machine.

@MoKiChU should put back older CHIPSET_Intel_v10.1.19222.8341driver in OP post. And link to this post why people don't need to install this driver update on a working machine and OS. Save time and don't fix it "if ain't broke".

The drivers offered by your tool are already contained in the latest Intel Chipset Drivers package from this thread.

Your Intel Chipset Drivers are not correctly installed probably because you have installed Intel Chipset Drivers from Windows Update - Optional updates.

- Follow this process to cleanup :

- Uninstall your current Intel Chipset Drivers package if you have any installed (via Start > Settings > Apps) then restart your PC.
- Launch Driver Store Explorer (Right click on "Rapr.exe" > Run as administrator) > Check the boxes of all versions of Intel drivers which .inf contains system word in the System device category (if you find them).
- Check the box "Force Deletion" then click on the "Delete Driver" button then restart your PC.

- Install Intel Chipset Drivers package :

i installed this version CHIPSET_Intel_v10.1.19284.8351

i have these files, i also have installed intel mei drivers
what delete? are you sure that is safe delete these inf files?
