I have not observed any performance loss after updating the ME firmware. Version 11.12.86.1877 is working fine on my Asus Rampage VI APEX (BIOS 1401). My CPU is an i9 7980XE.

For everyone's reference, this update resolves a security vulnerability within the ME firmware. No details appear to be available. The previous advisory I linked to was older and didn't apply in this case.
