[FIRMWARE] Intel ME (Z490)

Hi everyone,

- Intel ME Consumer Firmware :

Firmware : 14.0.39.1339 [25/06/2020]
Firmware PMC : 140.2.01.1011 [12/03/2020]
Firmware PCHC : 14.0.0.7002 [12/06/2020]

OS requirements : Windows 10 64 bit.
Hardware requirements : Motherboards with Intel Z490 chipset.

I'm lost, I really don't get the steps.
- Checked the version on my cmd and it says version [10.0.18363.1016]

I downloaded your file, opened it and I see:
- 14.0.39.1339.bin
- check
- error
- FWUpdLcl64
- install

I right click the "check" under Administrator it says version [14.0.39.1339].
I then run right click the "install" under Administrator, it runs and quickly closes.
I go back check my cmd and I don't see version change from [10.0.18363.1016] to [14.0.39.1339] at all.... What I'm I doing wrong here?

That's not very helpful.
Open a command prompt as administrator and then run Install.cmd directly from the command prompt.
The easiest way is to install a powertool that lets you "Shift+Right click" in windows explorer folders (On the right side) so you can open "Command prompt here" in the folder you are in (google it).

Here's one way:

Then you simply have to add "Adminstrator command window here" in place of it. (so it says Open administrator command window here, when you shift+right click).

Then tell us what the error is.

My PMC version is higher than anything posted, though my ME firmware and PCHC are not. What would happen if I tried to update?

Hi,

No, this is not the case :

Firmware PMC : 140.2.01.1011 > 140.2.01.7008

On the last 4 characters, only the last 3 represent the version, the first character represents the branch :

7 : Pre-Release/Release (Engineering/Production)
1 : Post-Release (Production)

Hey thanks, I had thought of that possibility of the version being a mask. It is interesting that Asus is using a pre-release in their latest official BIOS.

I assume this is true of the PCHC version as well. How about the ME itself?

Yes, this is true of the PCHC but not ME himself.

So if you understood the reasoning correctly, the next PCHC will be 14.0.0.7003 or 14.0.0.1003.

I updated the firmware on my Hero. My memory came up unstable, but after retraining it all seems OK so far.
