to downgrade the bios and do I need to do something before? I was using 1401 perfectly and I upgraded to 1502 and my CPU overclock is not legal. want to go back to 1401

What Motherboard do you have? Your Specs show an older motherboard that has the latest BIOS of 1301. This thread is for Z370/Z390 motherboards. Your specs are for a Z270 motherboard. Originally Posted by denisgcarvalho

1502 killed my OC
I have a maximus XI Formula with a 9900k 5 GHz on all cores
on 1401 i was stable at 1.27 V LLC6
On 1502 i get bsod even with 1.29 LLC7 and with higher temps ofc
Other settings are the same.
With 1401 settings on 1502 i can't even enter Windows (bsod at the login screen).
Reverted to 1401 to test and the old settings world like a charm then, at least on my board, 1502 Is a mess.
On passmark with 1502 and with 1.29 vcore i fail everytime SSE test on 1401 1.275 all fine with temps way lower. I really don't know what they changed but....
If i try 1.29 on 1401 i have 10 C less in idle compared to 1.29 on 1502 like something big Is going on with newer BIOS (no more load only more heat) . Maybe they changed something related to voltage supply to.the CPU.
Btw i have a 2x240 mm rad custom loop and on 1401 temps are excellent
Latest update. On 1501 i have to set svid to "worst case scenario" to obtain stabiliti, on 1401 "best case scenario" Is ok. (I:m on manual voltage ofc)Last edited by Zephir87; 05-13-2020 at 08:41 PM.
