ASUS ROG G703GX Mouse and Keyboard Aura Disable?

jsblume

I purchased this several months ago, and love the performance. However, the changing rainbow of colors on the mouse and keyboard is getting on my nerves. How do I disable that?

Thanks!

Welcome to the forums!

Unfortunately, don't have a G703GX lying around to check, so hopefully we can get more help from others if there are still any problems, but you will want to check your Armoury Crate settings as below.

Since there are different versions of Armoury Crate though, check both FAQs below to see which one looks more like the version you have installed.

If you using the earlier version of Armoury Crate, check sections 5-4 and 5-5 in the FAQ below about enabling/disabling Aura Sync, disabling Aura, and changing the brightness.

If you are using a newer version of Armoury Crate, check sections 2-3, 2-4 (although it's not mentioned, you can see a settngs button in the top right area of the screenshots which will give you more options you will be interested in), and section 4 in the FAQ below.

It's better to use the settings in Armoury Crate and this probably will not do anything for your mouse, but you may also want to try to reduce the brightness of the keyboard using the Fn+[down arrow] as mentioned on p40 of the user manual below. Hope this helps, and please let us know if it does not.

That did it! Thank you!

Actually, it only worked for the keyboard, not the mouse.

Unfortunately, haven't personally worked with external mice for this , but had more ideas below and if necessary, you may also want to confirm which FAQ your Armoury Crate version looks like.

Assuming it looks like the FAQ below, you may want to check your Aura sync settings in section 4 and 4-1 of the FAQ below to find out if Aura Sync is enabled, and which devices it is enabled for, if any.
Your notebook and mouse should be listed and you can check the box to include them as part of the Aura sync settings and also let us know which mouse is listed if possible.

Anyway, consider enabling Aura sync for both your notebook and mouse, then going back to section 2-3 in the FAQ for the system lighting and clicking on the settings box (which is not discussed more in this FAQ, but you can see it in the screenshot at least) in the top right of the screenshot for section 2-3 to either reduce the brightness to zero, or turn off the lighting.

Feel free to discuss or request more suggestions from others if there are still problems though.

The mouse does not show up as a supported device. I've sent an email to the manufacturer.

Thanks a lot for your help!
