As an example I compared setting
RTL 60 61, IOL 6 6 Offset 21 21
vs
RTL 60 61, IOL 2 2, Offset 25 25
I get the same performance measuring with Aida64. Or how do you do it when you are setting them manually?
That is why I am asking why set 25 25 what do you gain? It just seems like it is harder to boot 25 25 at high clock but I do not see any difference in Aida64.
Edit I messed around with Offset 24 24@4600(I cant even boot with them at 25 25) with the RTL and IOL on auto like you run and yeah it varies from boot to boot. So when it trained correctly with low RTL and IOL I turned on MRC Fast Boot and MCH Full Check off then those setting will stay after every boot. Have tried changing those setting so your settings stay?Last edited by bscool; 07-31-2020 at 03:58 AM.

from that I would conclude that my performance difference comes from RTLs, not IOLs, see screenshots on page before.
But how do you change IOLs without also affecting RTLs anyway??? I always thought they were tied by a certain factor, depending on speed and timings.
Yes, setting MRC Fast boot to disabled "conserves" the trained RTLs/IOLs for next boot, but that is an ugly solution.
Also I have noticed that stability also varies from boot to boot (training to training), from say karhu error at 7% vs karhu error at 1000%. So ideally I would want to conserve the 1000% state, but for that I need to reboot once first before getting back into the bios and setting MRC Fast boot to disabled. chicken and egg...
I've had 2 CPUs, 4 memory kits and 1 board and behavior always was the same. So is my board shot in a very weird way?

Okay, I've got the hardware today. First off, I only built one PC on my own, which makes this the second one.
I was at installing Max XII Extreme onto the TT View 91 case, and the holes won't align with the mobo.
I had similar issue with x299 e gaming, due to its back panel (which comes detached - diy), but here the back panel is preinstalled. It is a bit loosened. Is this normal? How should I proceed?
The back looks like this:

this looks normal to me, my M12A also has about 2mm of flex with foam between the io shield and the connectors to bridge the gap.
I think this is done purposely to allow for certain manufacturing tolerances with cases and still ensure proper seating and grounding of the io shield to the case.
can you just shift the motherboard towards the io shield by like 1mm, so the holes line up? the foam in the io shield should compress and allow for the movement. once you screw it in, the io shield should be statically in place and not rattle around
