I adjusted tRAS from 37 down to 35, and dropped Command Rate to CR1,.. and got some strange results, Read went up nicely, but Write & Copy took a huge hit dropping,.. Latency also dropped to sub 40 ns. Not sure if this is correct direction to go, but Read, and Latency are good to go.
Kind of in a pickle, I need a performance gain in Write & Copy, also want to lower latency a bit more, so going to stick with lowering latency, adjusting tRFC and tREFI.

I don't think you done much in the secondary and tertiary space of timings?
What did your memory training of RTL/IOL turn out to be?
As mentioned previously you should use asrock timing configurator to view your timings in windows.
Your tRAS should be 36=17x2+2
You should have a read through this: https://github.com/integralfx/MemTes...md#recommended
This is mine:

Thanks Morph, I'm on it. I enjoy reading.
Edit :
After reading that link above, and the DDR4 guide by HISEVILNESS,.. I now have a much better approach, understanding for adjusting all timings.
I started over from scratch, with everything set to Auto, and now have lowered primary timings stable, and working on setting tRFC and tREFI.
Going to run some MaxxMem2 benchmarks, Prime95 for 4-hours with big custom FFTs.
Confirming everything is stable, and than start adjusting RTL & IO-L.
First run with tCL, tRCD, tRP, tRAS stable, working on tRFC & tREFI.

^thats much better once you screw down the RTL/IOL's (not really mentioned how on either of those guides) you should see your latency dip under 40ns.
Also PPD and TXP are great values to setup to get free latency drops if you haven't already.
Try to mimic my tertiary values yours still looks very loose there FYI. with 2x8 id be aiming for the 36ns zone.Last edited by morph.; 12-17-2020 at 11:18 PM.

Thanks again for the advice.
Everything went together smoothly after starting from default settings, and following the proper steps as to which timings to adjust, and in correct order. Does take a bit of time following all the correct steps, but the end results are well worth the time invested.
I'm running Prime now, about an hour to go,.. than make the RTL/IOL adjustments later tonight, run TM5, Karhu another pass to confirm no errors tomorrow after work. This weekend will look at PPD and TXP, and tighten up tertiary values.
Thursday Night Football just started, so it's beer thirty.Last edited by Braegnok; 12-18-2020 at 02:16 AM.

Hello guys.
Something curious happens to me with my overclock.
I use a configuration of 5.1 ghz all cores and avx auto, offset +0.015, playing the Vcore Max is 1.275 and a Core Vid approximately 1.30 / 1.31
Since I have updated to Bios 0901 the Offset is not the same and neither is the Core Vid. I had to increase the Offset to +0.050 to get to the stability of 1.275 before, but now the Core Vid reaches 1.27 / 1.28 from max.
I have all the other values as I have always used them, does anyone have the same problem?
Use Rog Z490 Maximus XII
Best regards

^ My guess: newer microcode. Had to raise my core a smidge with my 10700k and new bios. Modded the new BIOS to use the older microcode and could lower it back down again.

Anyone figure out how to define RTL CHA CHB & IOL CHA CHB?
Every time I try to put a value in there even mimicking the same as the auto or a value I know works mem training just fails and won't boot.
For instance, I've been trying to get IOL's to be straight 7's and RTL CHA 61 RTL CHB 62, Running the 901 bios for M12F.

YES! I've had to stop using the Marvell Lan. Constant disconnect, random packet loss, it got so bad I called Comcast and they were going to send out a tech. I tried new drivers, old drivers and nothing works. It happened after a recent BIOS or Windows update. Unreal for a motherboard that costs $800. Asus needs to fix this. I am also now using the Intel LAN and no issues.
