Could it be due to the modem / router compatibility?
For me, the I225-V 2.5Gb Ethernet thingy didn't want to work on Ubuntu, and I was like no way that the Marvell 10 Gb would even blink. Then, it worked like a charm. Windows works fine with both (no wonder there). So, reading your message, it strikes me also as a possible modem/router compatibility problem.A Quaker here

HERO Xii Code 32 boot loop
Anyone run into a debug code 32 boot loop on these Asus mobos? Seem I find scant info on this and my Hero Xii is now stuck with this issue and won't post. Just CPU & DRAM Q-LED come on on start up and then starts again with debug LED showing 32 before looping. Tried reflashing two different bios in recovery, pulling CMOS battery, swapping DDR, pulling CPU and reinstalling, same issue, stuck at code 32 rinse and repeat. Pulling out all memory results in memory debug Q-LED on and long beeping. Also tried different memory. Had 2x16gb, tried 4x8gb and 2x8Gb same results. I'm thinking this mobo crapped out. Gonna try another mobo here soon to check, but weird to just up and do this from clear CMOS only reset.

So I just got my PC with the Maximus XII Hero Wi-Fi board in September and haven't manually updated the BIOS at all. I did all of my other drivers, chipset, firmware, etc. last month using one of the guides here. It's relatively simple with the easy flash feature or something apparently, but is there a specific version I should use? I've been told not to update my BIOS by some people if I don't have performance issues. The newest version is a beta as well, should I just update to the one before it?

Updated from 1002beta to 1003 without incident. Modded the BIOS to roll back MC update. Running regression test on my OC. So far everything looks fine.

I was having same issue with lowering RTL/IO. In Auto my values were 69/69/15/14 and I tried 7/7, 6/7, 14/14,... nothing worked, mem training was listing crazy values that would not boot. I was able to lower both RTLs and IOs by setting them all back to Auto, save reset, boot into Windows, check values with AsRock TC, and boot back into BIOS, leaving RTLs/IOs in Auto, I set Round Trip Latency to Enabled, and set Trace Centering to Enabled, save reset, booted back into Windows and AsRock TC now showed RTL/IOs value of 60/62/6/7 and I have just left them as is for now. I was planning on trying setting DRAM RTL INIT value to 62 and see if everything changed to 62/62/7/7 but I'm fine with settings as they are. Going to load BIOS 1003 in the morning and start over, I'll try for the 62/62/7/7 with new BIOS, let you know how it shakes out.
