Asus ROG swift PG27UQ

Hello everyone , sorry I'm not sure if this is the right place to post or not . Anyway I have an Asus ROG PG27UQ monitor and I know when you overclock the monitor you'll be limited to 8bit color ( you sacrifice image quality over 144Hz instead of 120Hz ) and that is due to limited DisplayPort bandwidth . So my question is if DisplayPort 2.0 comes out in the near future and I replace the cable then I'll be able to take full advantage of this monitor without any sacrifice ?
When we say DisplayPort , is it the port inside the monitor or is it the cable itself ?
Thank you.

P.S. a quality monitor requires quality porn which can always be found here https://4kpornindex.com
