Thanks for your posts and time.
I have a Z790 Hero and followed your install directions from the "[DRIVERS] Realtek Audio (Intel 2xx/3xx/4xx/5xx/6xx/7xx & AMD 3xx/4xx/5xx/6xx)" thread.
Specifically under the "ASUS ROG SS3|DTS Sound Unbound motherboards" section.
Unfortunately I have an error in that process which I posted about in that thread.
However, even though I generally use a 3.5mm headset, sometimes I use a USB headset so I thought to install the drivers from this thread too. If I follow the install directions from this thread under the "ASUS ROG SS3|DTS Sound Unbound motherboards" section, isn't that going to remove some of the drivers that I installed from your other aforementioned thread?Last edited by Soccerchamp43; 03-11-2023 at 05:36 AM.

Hi,
You tried to install an incorrect drivers package for your motherboard.
You have an ASUS ROG SS3|DTS Sound Unbound motherboard with ALC408x codec, so :
You need Realtek USB Audio Drivers (UAD - ASUS ROG SS3-DTS) from the first post of this thread.
Follow scrupulously your CLEANUP process then your INSTALL process, for the next drivers packages that I would release, you will can directly follow your UPDATE process.

Thank you very much! That fixed my issue - not only in attempting to install Realtek Audio Console, but also the original issue which was that my 3.5mm microphone wasn't working.
I very much appreciate you taking the time to respond in both threads, your patience, as well as all of your help to this community. It means a lot.
