Hey guys
I would like to know your opinion about my choise of graphics cards,
Today i've seen the new brutal GTX680 which is for quite a fair price. But is it really worth it?
My choises are: MSI radeon R6970 Lightning 2gb
Asus eah6970 2gb
nvidia gtx 680 (waiting for OC'ed cards)

these 3 are in my list. if there are any suggestions they are more than welcome!
p.s atm i'm using the nvidia 9800gtx+ 512mb combined with the amd fx-8150@4.2ghz 16gb RAM @ 1866mhz and asus crosshair V formula.
Thanks in advance and happy gaming ^.^

Why only the new GTX680 and not like the 7970 why you choose for 6970 i know this 1is cheaper then the other 2 they are in the same price class more or less.

The 680 absolutely DESTROYS the 7970 at all resolutions. I would suggest grabbing either the Asus or EVGA branded part. I'm partial to EVGA for video cards, and they already have an OC app.

The HD 7770 is only $159 and its PCIe 3.0, if your board supports 3.0 you might want to consider two of these in crossfireX. Just saying, good bang for your buck.

as i said so i have the Asus Crosshair V Formula but on the asus site it says it only contains PCI-E x16 2.0 >.>
does this mean i can't go higher as 6000 series??
if so screw asus i thought i bought a new board but now it seems old already???
Edit: I contacted Asus support, they called me and said it's not problem. my MB should run both nvidia and ati, just saying but i'm going for the 680gtx 2gb asus oc'ed version as soon as it releases 🙂
happy gaming!

Any GPU will do fine in the Crosshair , all gen 3.0 GPU can run on a pci-e 2.0 a 3.0 GPU can't not even use all the bandwidth of a 2.0. Actually no single AMD 990 FX boards on the market as 3.0

on a personal level I'd go for a GTX680. Simply because I've always been a bit nVidia sided anyway. But there is nothing wrong with a 7970 Its all up to personal choice
Current Specs:
Asus Crosshair II Formula ( running old school )
AMD Athlon64 le-1600 @ 2.8Ghz
2GB DDR2 800MHz
Sapphire Radeon HD3870 512MB @806Mhz
