Replacing BIOS chip corrupted by IME driver installation

I'm pretty sure I corrupted the BIOS chip on my M6H by (stupidly) using an IME driver installation utility from Intel's website instead of the one on Asus support. My computer now hangs at Q-code 79 for 5 minutes or more during boot if it has slept at all. I've been working around it by simply disabling sleep, but I purchased a preflashed replacement BIOS chip from Bios-Chip24.com that I'm hoping will fix the issue. My question is, can I continue to use my current Windows install after I change the chip or will it write the same code to the new BIOS the first time I boot and corrupt it too? Thanks.

Decided to just go for it (YOLO) after verifying that the currently installed IME version is the same as the latest one provided for the M6H on Asus support. All is good. For anyone that finds this, the replacement BIOS chip has completely resolved the hang at Q-code 79 during boot. Take-home message: Never use an IME driver installation utility from the Intel website.
