My system is up and running, 2 TB Samsung 970 EVO Plus. It was recognized immediately and showed no sign of any problems.. If it makes any difference, I am running 2 memory modules of 16 GB each, so I don't have all four slots populated.
You have installed all the chipset drivers .. you have to expand the download section to see more than just the Intel Mgmt Engine drivers..

Much appreciation
Thanks a lot, this is a great relieve for me. “recognized immediately”
What an unlucky me, to get two defect NVMEs…. (original packing … amazon …)
Having sent them back feels now the right decision…
As my 970 evo plus 500G is working perfectly, I see the same entries in hardware manager.
While testing last week, I installed the newest (v3.3) driver set from Samsung.
Armory Crate shows all drivers installed and up to date (including Intel Chipset Drivers).
My replacements should arrive next week. So, looking forward to “plug and play” them.
We also got confirmation that the 1TB Variant works by hsm06. Thanks.
So I’m now looking forward to next week.

Hi,
I'm still waiting for my replacements. My original NVMes have been sent on request to Samsung. As soon as they are back I will let you know, if they work.

It isn't important where you buy your stuff, but you might think about changing... If both of those original drives were bad, it does not look good for that company..
You are saying, the company did not just replace the drives, but sent them back to Samsung for evaluation?
And just in case it may be a factor, I don't use Armory Crate..Last edited by Saltgrass; 07-20-2020 at 03:54 PM.

I also have a Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus 1TB. Never had a problem. I just built this computer last week with the 10900K as well. However my device manager doesn't show the same as yours. Mine just says Standard NVM Express Controller instead of Samsung NVM. Does this even matter? Also under Disk Drives, it says Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus 1TB, but yours says something about SCSI? I'm quite confused.

We had a little twist today and this is probably related to your situation. Another user noticed the Bios settings for Secure Boot were set to Other OS instead of Windows UEFI. When I checked my settings, it also shows Other OS instead of Windows UEFI so it appears the original Bios setting is incorrect.
If you have problems when the drives are available, you might check that setting. I did install the 2 TB drive with it set to Other OS... I have, of course, changed it to Windows UEFI and the system continues to boot normally..

... still waiting for information on my replacements. it's getting a never-ending story.
I tried both boot settings - so that was clearly not the reason (Other OS/Windows UEFI) on all the bioses I tried incl. the beta 703.

I didn't forget this ...
The company I bought the 970 EVOs wasn't able to repalace them. At least after months of legal dispute I got my money back.
So I'm going to buy new ones.
Has anybody a working System with the Samsung 970 Evo Plus 2TB (the 2TB Version!) running?
Has anybody a running system with the new Samsung 980 Plus NVME's?
(on a XII board)
