It's well known 4 sticks plays worse than 2 on all motherboards, it's specified by AMD/Intel, especially when the sets aren't matched.

Why are you surprised they haven't already tested your memory? That's what the QVL-list is for, to show which memory is tested, always check that one first before buying memory unless you're willing to tweak.

You're running OC, far from JEDEC spec, of course actual settings that works will vary. Like VDIMM.

No! I'm surprised that they messed up something with 2103 that was working on 1301. It's important to me, because I'm considering switching to ZEN3 when it comes without changing the BIOS, and I want to have working solution.

So to sum up, 2103 cannot keep stable 1.35V while 1302 can. It's something they need to fix.

    Hello,

Testing previous settings on my personal rig show no noticeable reduction in memory stability between build 1201 and 2103. 4x8GB F4-4266C17-8GTZR @ 3733 C14.

Memory subsets all in auto bar refresh (tRFC/tRC)

PBO enabled, all other settings left to board control.

It's quite often when experiencing these types of issues that the memory overclock was conditional to begin with. There are numerous reasons why DRAM stability may waver, some of which require a much deeper understanding. Things to look out for are change in ambient temperature, as this can have an impact on impedances and memory training parameters.

Some memory rules may change between builds, so there is always the possibility that some user intervention is required. As with all things overclocking, there are no guarantees. It goes without saying that if one is mixing kits expect to have to make some concessions...

Lastly, pointing out software readings on VDIMM is futile as the reading is tapped off the power plane, so isn't going to match what is being fed at the DIMM.

UEFI 2103 Set VDIMM of 1.45v

The RAM is samsung b-die top of the line and cant get post with it without dowgrading BIOS, thats normal ?

Wont run AUTO w/ DOCP @ 2103 and/or has post issues w/ 2xRAM & 4xRAM but will @ 1302 suggests bigger issue than what overclocking may or may not do. Than you have the issue that switch manufucature of board to MSI or Gigabyte with same RAM latest BIOS and DOCP works.... about time ASUS spent some time validating RAM on all it's boards but in particular top of line, ie CH8. Otherwise just making excuses.

Oh yeah but I can take avg. 4133 samsung b-die and post in any bios with it and set speed from 3200-4500ddr but cant with higher binned samsung b-die. Mind you the timings of which have to played with 2103 more than 1302 which also suggests, issue.

What I like most is you ask ticket support for support and the use QVL as an excuse for not supporting DOCP rather than passing it to BIOS guys to fix. Merry-go-round with no clear way forward to getting a problem fixed anymore. Let us hope this stops soon or else getting off this ride forever.

I remember a time not that long ago, when I asked for fix in BIOS, get passed by ticket support within a week and two days latter BIOS guys send me file that fixes the problem. I miss that time.

    Me too.

So many users have similar issue with 2103 that doesn't occur on 1302, but based on some other users and ASUS support it's our fault that we want to use SUPPORTED feature. DOCP is nothing unusual nowadays.

Tested (standard settings, only DOCP enabled or not):

    1. 64gb TridentZ (4x16) - G.Skill Trident Z, DDR4, 32 GB,3200MHz, CL14 (F4-3200C14D-32GTZ)

    a) 1302 with DOCP - works
    b) 1302 without DOCP - works
    c) 2103 with DOCP - doesn't work, random crash/reboot
    d) 2103 without DOCP - doesn't work, random crash/reboot
    e) 2103 with VDRAM set to 1.36V and current limit upped to 110% with DOCP - works

    2. 32gb TridentZ (2x16) - G.Skill Trident Z, DDR4, 32 GB,3200MHz, CL14 (F4-3200C14D-32GTZ)

    a) 1302 with DOCP - works
    b) 1302 without DOCP - works
    c) 2103 with DOCP - doesn't work, random crash/reboot
    d) 2103 without DOCP - doesn't work, random crash/reboot
    e) 2103 with VDRAM set to 1.36V and current limit upped to 110% with DOCP - works

Also tested on mine friend's MSI MPG-X570-GAMING-PRO-CARBON-WIFI with 7B93v17 BIOS (AMD AGESA ComboAm4v2PI 1.0.0.2):
    a) with DOCP - works (32 GB and 64 GB)
    b) without DOCP - works (32 and 64 GB)

So for all users that want to protect ASUS - please don't say that current 2103 is OK, when there is an issue that doesn't occur on other MB with the same AGESA.

It not even like this only effects a single product line - CH8.

This is CH6 with latest BIOS running a 3700x with 2x8 G.Skill Neo F4-3600C16-8GTZNC. Hynix RAM D-die. Can't run DOCP causes locks up.
I manually enter all data, in particular the sub timings and boom, it works.

I wonder why it cant read DOCP and than do the subtimings itself without lockup ?

No wait, I no longer care what the excuse is. The problem is I own enough ASUS products to actually check them and you are found wanting ASUS.
