Z490 - Unknown PCI Device Driver Missing
Apologies if this is the wrong place to post- I'm at a dead end and cannot figure this out.
SYSTEM
- ROG Strix z490-E Gaming
- i7 10700k
- Gigabyte RTX 2080 Super (Gaming OC)
I recently swapped my motherboard from a MSI z490 board to the ASUS ROG Strix z490-e Gaming, Everything works fine- yet after swapping two unknown PCI Devices appeared.
I've double checked all Asus BIOS/Drivers/everything is up to date. I did figure out SOME things about these mystery PCI Devices but cannot resolve the issue- crying uncle and asking for help.
RESEARCH SO FAR
Device Hardware IDs
- Both of the 'PCI Device' displayed have identical Hardware IDs
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_06E9&SUBSYS_86941043&REV_00
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_06E9&SUBSYS_86941043
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_06E9&CC_0C8000
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_06E9&CC_0C80
Device Instance Path
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_06E9&SUBSYS_86941043&REV_00\3&115 83659&1&A9
The only EXACT Match I could find was on a random website in foreign language where someone was listing system specs. No idea if accurate but shows as:
- Intel(R) LPSS: I2C Controller #0 - 06E8
If I do a more board search of '8086&DEV_06E9' it appears this is an Intel Driver.
- Intel(R) Serial IO I2C Host Controller
I cannot seem to find an exact match for this driver from Intel - only things with a similar name from 2015. I did find some matches but from 3rd party sites I'd rather avoid.
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/dow...for-Windows-10
I tried anything I could find from Intel and nothing has fixed the issue. Still see these two PCI Devices. Am hoping someone here has the same issue and can help!

Well, have you tried getting the Intel Chipset drivers from the forum here? Might want to check all of those out. Check this thread https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthrea...x-2xx-3xx-4xx)

I did try those.
By some miracle I literally just fixed this. I found the following driver on Lenovo's website:
https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/ds506150
I've tried so many drivers with a similar name...its the actual "12C" Drivers that I needed. I was never able to find the '12c' ones alone before...I found plenty that mention 12c in the description but not in the actual driver title- none of those worked. This one did.

My I2C Serial IO drivers also installed with the Chipset drivers..
Just in case, you have to expand the Chipset drivers section on the download page so you see all the drivers, not just the Intel ME driver..
I am also showing a Xeon driver in the System Devices section of the Device Manager. It appears that is a null driver to remove Yellow triangles from specific devices and Brand the system as Intel..But I don't have your version of the Z490..
