    ==========================
    edit

i have been looking over youtube reviews and this board seems to be receiving a beating in reviews so far

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7XjfBs88wAI
    time: 0:40 to 1:00 -
from the video:"people are going to be unhappy "

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BmwYrLNayP4
    time: 1:50 to 2:20 -
from the video: "no, just not necessary"

the first thing this indicates to me is that the board has over heating problems - other then that, why would you need a fan?

    - so far its over priced
    - its a new socket, so you need a new cpu - more money
    - it doesnt have pcie 4.0

more research points are to come

im still trying to figure out why a board of this caliber does not support 256GB of ram....

I don't work for ASUS so I don't have any special knowledge. Perhaps it's based on the largest kits that were tested.

Not sure what he means here. Why does it matter what AMD users think of an Intel platform?

When heavily overclocking and using certain cooling (like water) the VRMs may not get enough airflow. It's unlikely necessary for most people as the reviewer states.

perhaps.....it just does not make sense why the "flagship, best of the best, crème de la crème etc etc etc" has half the other memory capacity of other boards in the rog line up...

yes, i agree, now that i look at it, maybe its an error on his part? - and the guy hasnt done a follow up video - in fact, there is very little around about the board itself - a couple of board reviews and a few builds, there is nothing really exciting being produced using this board, its probably because its new..

the reason why i mention this, is when a video was done on the maximus 11 extreme - you could feel and hear the excitement in builders voices when they talked about that board......now with this one its "meh"....which gives me the feeling of "that its not that good"...

i checked prices today, they are still SO OVER priced.....maybe by christmas they will come down...

as far as the cooler fan, - for some reason it just annoys me, and thats because it gives off the feeling of being a broken design if you need a fan, or its just a way to charge people more and jack up the price...how much could i have saved? $30 for that fan?

tried checking the forums earlier but received an error message....

Here is the new question - i have been looking over the Rog Maximus 12 hero vs extreme - and it appears you get more bang for buck with the hero! the lesser version...

can someone please tell me why on earth would i pay $1549,00 for a mother board which has less or almost identical features to the $800 board?

    - after an exhaustive research, of both boards, i cannot find out what is so special about it?
