X570 - no Asus high-end motherboards?
Asus has clearly fallen behind Gigabyte with their X570 Auros Extreme being the only X570 motherboard on the market with a passively cooled chipset. It even performs really well in OC'd thermal benchmarks, proof that the X570 does NOT need active cooling - only on cheap motherboards that don't pack enough metal. My last Asus build from 5 years ago performed really well but I have no reason to consider them for my next build... its very disappointing that Asus simply aren't offering a product in the enthusiast space... any thoughts as to why they would do that or have they announced any plans to the contrary?

I was very disappointed about this fact also. Our only hope is to wait for X670 where they could possibly redeem they honour. I am running cheap MSI b450 myself in anticipation of high end x670 ROG board.
