Weird coil whine when moving data

Hi,

I' noticed a weird noise coming from my MB when i'm moving datas from one disk to another,

Does anyone know what can be the issue? Amazon will send me another MB but i was wondering if it could be caused by something else

Motherboard is maximus hero XI, 9900k

thanks

It could be many things. I have seen switching PSUs can make a difference. In one system I built for someone with a Seasonic Platinum 660xp2 it had quite a bit more coil whine than with a Seasonic Focus Platinium 550w.

I am not saying it is your PSU just that to narrow down what is causing it could be difficult. Sometimes turning off C states and other power saving feature in the bios can help with MB coil whine. GPUs are usually the biggest cause of coil whine in my experience.

I have a corsair rmi 850 PSU but I received today a Seasonic prime ultra platinum i will install later. Maybe that will help, at last I hope so for the price I paid for it ><

For the gpu it has coil whine too but it's a different one haha.

I've swapped PSU and seems the noise is gone !

Noise is still there : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Z_S4mSDrvERJx1g9aI9ReZpUV9d1mCn4/view?usp=sharing

I am downloading a game on origin, when I pause the download, noise stops. Any idea?

Thanks
