Ram Advice Please

Hello Guys,
I own a Rampage V extreme Mobo, yes it has some years but keeps going strong 😉
Currently I have 16 Gb Ram installed on it (4x4ddr 4 Gb sticks), but I am considering getting new Ram since It is getting short for my needs,
So what ram would you experts recommend for my Mobo in order to have full compatibility and top performance? Im thinking 32Gb or 64Gb depending on the prices ... Also overclock is not a priority right now...

Regards,

Hello, capacity depends very much on your workload.

32GB is ample for a gaming system / 64GB for a capable work station.

Look for a singular kit of either capacity binned for 3200MHz that is present on the QVL.

X99 is an old platform, you'd need to check the QVL and then cross-reference that with kits you can find in stock for best chance of compatibility with your CPU.

Click on the memory report for your QVL. : https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/RAMPAGE_V_EXTREME/HelpDesk_QVL/

This G.SKILL 3000C15Q kit is listed in your QVL and would be my choice. : https://www.gskill.com/specification/165/168/1535954809/F4-3000C15Q-32GRK-Specification

Personally I feel the Corsair 3200C16 kit should work fine but it might not,.. due to SS or DS compatibility issues seems the 3200 kits listed in your QVL are all SS modules. The G.SKILL 3000C15 kit listed in your QVL would be compatible, and I don't think you will notice any speed increase going with 3200C16 kit vs 3000C15.

Than you so much for your help guys. I am on it now.
@braegnok I am looking at what you suggest, and probably will go for it. But im having a hard time finding 32Gb 2133 pack , I should be abble to find that exact model somewhere looking hard, its rather vintage stuff 🙂 ...
Rregards...

The Egg has the 3000C15 kit listed above in stock on sale, free shipping. https://www.newegg.com/g-skill-32gb-288-pin-ddr4-sdram/p/N82E16820231802

Also amazon has it in stock, free shipping for a few dollars more than Egg. https://www.amazon.com/G-SKILL-Ripjaws-PC4-24000-MemoryModel-F4-3000C15Q-32GRK/dp/B00P08PYSA/ref=cm_...

Hi Pleot,
I have the rampage v edition 10 and have been running this G.Skill memory kit since the board was released https://www.newegg.com/g-skill-32gb-288-pin-ddr4-sdram/p/N82E16820232352

Here's a few screen shots if you want to see the specs ... the memory runs great 😄

Hello @Hillguy
I managed to find that model here in Europe, the only difference is its dual channel instead of quad channel, two 16 Gb sticks instead of 4x4... Its tempting 🙂 specialy with your good experience with the x99 chip and those sticks, though my x99 is first gen and yours is later, your board supports mem up to 3333 and mine only up to 3200 OC, shoould this make a diference concerning the comp of the sticks? Sorry if it is a hard question but just for the record
