Anyone tried the new bios?

Version 2206
2020/08/17 19.16 MBytes

ROG CROSSHAIR VIII FORMULA BIOS 2206
"-Update AMD AM4 AGESA V2 PI 1.0.8.0
-Improve system performance.
-Improve system stability
-Improve M.2 storage compatibility
-Improve DRAM stability

Most curious for stability in OC and memory clocking

After 2103(stable for me now) and 2010(more troublesome but stable after a lot of manual tempering) i`m a little hesitant jumping in.....

I'm still on 1302 with my C8F and deathly afraid of updating after the horror stories of the last few updates.

Hi,

yeah I tried it and it is even worse than 2103 & 2010. 😞 Version 1302 is still the best version, if you want a stable system and have fast RAM timings.

Every time they "Improve DRAM stability", they actually make it worse! I opened a support ticket and wrote back and forth with the BIOS guys in Taiwan, for almost 2 month now, but they are just not listening or willing to do something about it. 😞

Greets,
Hauser

I am having no issues with 2103 and don't want any. But "improved stability" and "improved system performance" look good. The question is, how are these being achieved and are these at the cost of anything (like BSODs, high stuck core clock speeds and temperatures at default, etc.)? Is anyone with 3200 MHz memory and/or a 3950x CPU having issues?

I have a 3950x with 3600 RAM - 1302 and 2010 were very buggy. 2103 has been working much better!! I also would like "improved stability and performance" but I'm pretty comfortable right now....

My 2 cents...

Must say "thanks" to Asus, as they finally were able to release a BIOS that allows me to make my 4x8Gb config to work smoothless.
With previous releases I got errors with my 2 kits (1 G.Skill 4000C17D and 1 4133C19D) set @3600 CAS 14... with 2206 I've passed 5 hours of Karhu MemTest, so I think it's stable.
Maybe the lower temperatures of theese days help.

FWIW - I took the plunge last night and upgraded from very stable 2103 to 2206. So far, so good, but it'll take several days before I feel as comfortable with it as I did with 2103....
