Problem with Zenith Extreme Alpha UEFI 2101 (1st gen X399 board)

Hi there,

I recently updated my Zenith Extreme Alpha firmware to UEFI 2101. This enabled me to upgrade to the latest version of Windows however I am experiencing major memory compatibility issues since then. With UEFI 2001 I was able to run 3000MHz at CL14 without any issues, but since upgrading the firmware to UEFI 2101 I am not able to run anything except JEDEC speeds. None of the non-JEDEC speeds work. I tried a few combinations at 2933MHz and 3000MHz, even stuff based on the DRAM Calculator for Ryzen and none of them work. What changed that would cause this and does anyone know of how to resolve the issue?

Does anyone have any input? Any ASUS support persons on here? Seasoned forum members that may know what the changes were and how to work around this seemingly new limitation?

increase the ram voltage, i was able to boot at around 1.45 but dont know if its healthy for long term use, this motherboard just sucks with ddr32000, i just downgrade to 0405 Bios works perfectly for me with ddr3200, 1,356 ddr Voltage and cl14, since bios 2001, ddr4 with 3200 is not supported or i do something wrong dont know

Thank you for your reply. My original memory in the 64GB configuration, model G.SKILL F4-3200C14D-32GTZR, 2 kits of 2x16GB sticks, and there is seemingly nothing I can do to make it work though this used to run just fine at 3000MHz on 2001 UEFI. I have purchased a kit of G.SKILL F4-3200C14Q-32GTZRX which is a 4x8GB configuration and I was able to get this one to boot at 3200MHz using 1.375V. I will try lowering the voltage further but initially 1.35V failed to boot. I am just running memTestPro now to see if it is stable at 1.375V. I really dislike how finicky this board and in general Threadripper is with memory. I will update my results here once I'm done testing but it looks like the only way I will be able to get back to 64GB is if I go to an 8x8GB configuration with G.SKILL F4-3200C14Q-32GTZRX.

Looks like 3200MHz CL14 is stable in a 4x8GB configuration using the G.SKILL F4-3200C14Q-32GTZRX kit and 2101 UEFI and 1.37500V for AB/CD channels. I will have to pick up another kit to make 64GB but at least this is a good step forward. Interesting thing I noticed is that even though I set the voltage to 1.37500V per channel, the UEFI actually reports just over 1.362V per channel. I did not explicitly measure things, but this is what I saw when I access the UEFI setup screen using F2/DEL command. As I said earlier, this is one strange board.
