yea thanks, but I'm sticking with my hero wifi... Was expensive enough for a mobo.
I'll just opt for the USB3>USB2 converter then...*

you'll call me stubborn, but I'm simply unable to locate the second 20pin connector on my motherboard.
Here's an excerpt from the manual. 4 eyes see more than 2...

Here is the manual
https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/m...-FI_UM_WEB.pdf
Motherboard Layout 1.1.2 Items 11 & 13
Goto 1-18 then 1-19 ... I own the bloody board why would I tell you something untrue ?
There are no boards to my knowledge with 2x 3.0 Gen 1 20 pin header.
Your whole paradigm has been wrong from the start for the case and the boards.Last edited by RedSector73; 09-02-2020 at 03:50 PM.

There are no boards to my knowledge with 2x 3.0 Gen 1 20 pin header.
I just wanted to have a confirmation of the above quote.
So, indeed, there's no 2 x 3.0 Gen 1 20 pin header on this board...
What got me confused was the fact that the case was in fact inducing such a possibility by offering 2 sets of 20pin USB connectors.
Maybe they just wanted to offer the choice of placement of a single set : top or bottom of case, but not both together...
Anyway, with a 20to9pin adapter, I'll be able to make use of the second set of the case USB ports ....
Thanks for your help.
PS: are you satisfied with the board?*

Well having played with a lot of motherboards. It's a solid choice. MSI BIOS & VRM's of B550 I'm quite impressed with. They're really bringing the 'A' game to Ryzen AM4 platform allthough avoid anything by any manufacturer with 'carbon' in the naming and 'prime'. If I was buying today my choices would be different but that should not take away from CH8 which is as stated still a solid X570 choice.
In summary although said this more than once now. The motherboard and the case line up - they need no additional connectors and work with each other completly without problem. The documenation for the USB 3.0 headers on the motherboard and the case, both match each other, and will work without anything additionial being needed.Last edited by RedSector73; 09-05-2020 at 01:12 AM.
