How do I change or upgrade my STRIX HERO II RAM, what do I need to keep in mind?

    Hello guys,
I have a ROG STRIX HERO II and I was thinking upgrading my RAMM.

    Currently I have this installed:
    Module Size: 8 GBytes
    Memory Type: DDR4 SDRAM
    Module Type: SO-DIMM
    Memory Speed: 1333.3 MHz (DDR4-2666 / PC4-21300)
    Module Manufacturer: SK Hynix
    Module Part Number: HMA81GS6CJR8N-VK

I have no idea what this is, but I was planning on buying 1 of these: HyperX Impact, 8GB, 2666MHz DDR4, CL15, SODIMM

Would this HyperX work with my current 8gb card? or do I need to buy a HyperX Kit of 2 (HX426S15IB2K2/32)?

Unfortunately no....you need to buy a single kit of RAM that your motherboard can support (CPU too).

Have a look for the QVL for the board etc.

Hyper x is from kingston for the module manufacture type so it "could" run into conflicts with currently installed SK Hynix RAM Id recommend that you buy a 16GB kit of two of either two 8GB to make 16GB or get a 2 x 16GB for 32GB total ram if your feeling adventurous. Make sure to keep it at the 2666MHz and DDR4

also ballistics is from cruital which also wont work with SK hynix.

You need to match exactly your current RAM Speed Timing and voltage, if you have two open slots the add a pair 4GB , GB8 GB16. install in matched pairs Regardless of the route you select.
