ASUS*ROG MAXIMUS X HERO with Samsung 980 Pro
Hi All,
I know this may sound like a stupid question, but can you still fit the PCIE4.0 Samsung 980PRO's to an older Mobo?
I have the ASUS*ROG MAXIMUS X HERO (WIFI) and wanted to fit the Samsung 980s rather than the 970s. Just to future proof my machine a little if I ever upgrade the mobo/cpu in the future.
Cheers,

Yes, this is backwards compatible with PCIe 3.0...just limited, of course, to 3.0 speeds.
