128GB Vermeer RAM support >2666?

I'm very interested in the Crosshair VIII Dark Hero. I want the fastest X570 128GB RAM support I can find. This board's Memory QVL isn't up yet, let alone for Vermeer.

To be honest, if it's gonna have the same Memory QVL as the rest of the ROG Crosshair VIII Series I'm not sure I want it, because the series' 128GB RAM support does not exceed 2666 (which I regret inclines me to switch to a competitor's motherboard).

I want to buy a 5950x to use with it, and I'm seeking your advice please. I'm new to system building. Perhaps I'm asking too soon, but my less-lame system died a couple months ago so I'm eager.

FYI also important to me is minimum 8 SATA ports, and multi-gig Ethernet. (I'm not a gamer.)

Hey coyote2,

The qvl dram list up. Check again. If you buy the 5950X, by default it should run 3200MHz random access memory. On the AMD website it states the speed up to 3200MHz thus I'm presuming it shouldn't be a concern. The motherboard should handle 4 modules for a total of 128GB
🙂

Thank you very much for the headsup, AS185!

I'm thrilled by not just the 3200MHz support, but to see the motherboard's QVL shows a couple 128GB options at 3600MHz (I think I'll hope the HyperX HX436C18FB3K4/128 works for me).

I just finish a new build with the Dark Hero and the HyperX HX436C18FB3K4/128 and have been dealing with random reboots.

Yikes, I'm sorry that this happened to you! (And I'm scared it might happen to a noob like me; please let us know how it turns out?)

@yanivfridman
Did you ever sort out your issue with the Dark Hero and the HyperX HX436C18FB3K4/128 ?

The HyperX HX436C18FB3K4/128 I bought from Amazon turned out to be fake, and now it's out of stock everywhere, so I'm trying to decide what 128GB kit to get

Edit: I'm happy to find that over on Reddit yaniv shared that his issue turned out to be with his CPU. (Er, I'm sorry that happened to him, but it encorages me WRT his RAM kit.)
