GTX980 card (awaiting 3080)
5600x cpu
32gb 3600mhz ram (best previously could get running at was at 3200mhz DOCP)
In 1801 I had to set power idle to Typical to get USB to behave.......running the ram sticks ( on the QVL list) at DOCP would cause blue screens on login on 1801)
Updated from 1801 to 1804, loaded optimised defaults, USB looks to be behaving itself. I have set DOCP and full 3600mhz with the FCLK at 1800mhz.....and I'm logging in fine, however screen is blanking frequently for a few ms here and there, so looks like I'll have to set it back to 3200mhz again

Spoke too soon on the RAM side, shortly after posting got BSOD, and then immediately on log in screen again.
Stop Code : Memory_Management
Have set that back to 3200mhz now (with FCLK of 1600) The timings are 18-22-22-42 which is what it should be for when its at its rated 3600mhz, but I dont know how/whats best to set these too for running at a different speed - but so far stable
I've left power control to Auto instead of Typical and keyboard/mouse is working for now so will monitor usage when under load (ie gaming)

Today I updated to bios 1804. Loaded optimized default. I left Global C State to Auto and power supply idle control to auto. So far no more usb problems in windows and gaming. Ryzen 5800X, nVidia Geforce RTX 3070, 32 GB 3200 Mhz.

RX 6800
5800X
Latest BIOS and chipset driver.
The USB 2.0 issue seems to have been fixed.
SAM enabled, PCIe 4.0 enabled, DOCP 3600 MHz. These are the only settings I have altered from stock.

USB fixed, yes, but my system has become more unstable with PBO activated with the default settings and DDR4000 8GBx4 (manually adjusted 3600 16,16,16,36). It reboots me a lot.
If I disable PBO, everything is OK. Before with 1801 BIOS I had no problem with PBO activated and that memory configuration.

I also have problems in ('full') idle with stuttering mouse and keyboard so windows installation was very funny. I've read that a game launcher like Steam could generate enough load to avoid this problem (and I can confirm this: closing all background apps leads to stuttering). I'll later try to disable C-states and set 'Power Supply Idle Control' to 'Typical' and I will check if this problem still occurs.
Another bad thing: If I run my graphics card at PCIe gen 4.0 my sound channels often swap (my sound card is a SoundBlaster AE-7). Changing output to speakers and then back to headphones (or reverse) fixes it for a certain period of time. If I set PCIEX1_1 to Gen 3.0 there is no problem with the sound. It seems to be a common problem too.
Did anybody of you overclock the RAM to 4000 MHz? I've got also problems with that (but I started another thread in the overclocking section).Last edited by firewalker2k; 02-11-2021 at 02:10 PM.

Feverdog, which RAM sticks? Curious. I'm also on 32GB DDR4-3600. My RAM (Crucial Ballistix) are NOT on the QVL list but they've been 100% fine on BIOS 1216. Yep, 1216. I reverted that far back in desperation to avoid issues. Ryzen 7 3700X. GTX 980, just like you. Actually, I have two GTX 980s in SLI. Everything was fine up until a few days ago. Power Supply Idle Control was left at default setting. Then all hell broke loose this past week.
I suddenly started getting "black screen crashes" while the system was mostly idle. Music stops immediately when this occurs but the HDD light continues to stay on, fans continue to spin, and no BSOD is generated. Quite curious.
OCCT Power tests pass fully, I was even able to run Prime95 and FurMark at the same time (!) so it most definitely is not the power supply. But what the heck changed in the last week to cause this? Beginning to wonder if I should be checking my surge protector, and/or the PSU power cable itself. Cuz the PSU is clearly fine. Maybe a Windows Update pushed new microcode to my processor? Or is that just Intel who gets those through Microsoft?
