Hi, I have exactly the same problem with my 3090 Strix OC. I just swapped my 1080ti Strix OC yesterday, it wasn't making any extra "beeps" on startup.
My rig:
i7 6700k
32gb dd44 3200mhz
Asus Maximus VIII Hero
1000W power supply

Having the same issue ROG Strix GeForce RTX 3090 OC 24GB
I get the normal short beep then 3 quick beeps.
When beeps happens VGA B8 & 98 is being displayed then moves on to normal boot.
Re-installed my Titan X (Pascal) to test and have no speaker error codes on boot. Working as should.
Probably will RMA.
Have since disabled CSM in BIOS (disables legacy boot) now booting as should.Last edited by ExcessiveGBH; 11-26-2020 at 01:51 PM.

I have same issue 4-quick beeps after installing 3090 FE card, I confirmed pulling 3090, putting back in old GPU and the beeps go away.
The beeps do not seem to cause any issues, as my system still boots windows, runs fine. There is a posable fix listed on reddit,.. what they are saying is put your BIOS into UEFI mode which will fix the issue. However if you do that you need to make sure your OS install is on GPT partition or you won't be able to boot into Windows. The conversion instructions are under Advanced/Windows OS Configuration/Windows WHQL support.
Personally the 4-quick beeps at the power on self test is nothing to worry about,.. provided the system is all good, it passed self testing, and boots Windows.

It seems that anyone who installs an Ampere GPU starts having an annoyingly loud and rapid 4-beep BIOS code when UEFI with CSM or Legacy BIOS is enabled, this is normal. It's not indicative of an issue with your mobo or GPU. It is an annoyance related to Ampere and not a mainboard or GPU defect. It does not affect functionality.
Beeps with 3090 FTW | EVGA Forums
Placing a piece of electrical tape over the hole in the motherboard's speaker dramatically reduced the magnitude of the beeping. It is still audible, but very faint and no longer annoying. I multi-boot Windows 7, 10 and Linux, so having Legacy BIOS or UEFI with CSM enabled is an absolute must. I do not use a pure UEFI setup for anything.Last edited by Mr. Fox; 12-31-2020 at 09:06 PM.
