    Question X470-f Gaming PCIE Configuration

    Budget: ~300€
    Main uses of intended build: Gaming and Software Development
    Parts required: SSD (Sabrent SB-ROCKET-NVMe4-1TB) + GPU(3080TI/6800XT)

    Previous build information (list details of parts):
    CPU: Ryzen 7 - 2700X YD270XBGAFBOX
    RAM: Crucial Ballistix Sport LT BLS2K16G4D30AESC 3000 MHz CL15
    GPU: SAPPHIRE R9 290X Tri-X - 4 GB
    PSU: Corsair HX750i
    970PRO MZ-V7P512 (M.2_1 slot)
    Optane 900P 480 SSDPED1D480GA

    Monitor resolution: 4K
    Storage requirements:
    Will you be overclocking: not now
    Any motherboard requirements (no. of USB, Xfire/SLI, fan headers):
    PCIE 3.0 x16 or 4.0 x8 on x16 slot for GPU
    PCIE 3.0 x4 on x16 slot for Optane
    PCIE 3.0 x4 on m.2 slot for 970PRO 512GB
    PCIE 3.0 x4 on m.2 slot for Sabrent R4 1TB

    Extra information about desired system:

    Right now the 900P is in the first PCIE3 x16 slot and the GPU is in the second PCIE3 x16 slot, both operating at x8

    I'm going to change GPU with a 3080 or 6800 XT and to add a Sabrent SB-ROCKET-NVMe4-1TB.

    New GPUs should stay in a PCIE3 x16 to get 100% performance but if i move the 900P in the 3rd x16 slot it will go down from 2.6GB/s to 1.7GB/s and i fear it would share bandwidth with the new Sabrent in the M.2_2 slot and make both go even slower

    Is there any possible configuration both in physical positioning or software changes(bios updates and such) to prevent any component from underperforming?

    What would happen if i'd upgrade CPU to 3700X or similiar? Will PCIE 4.0 fix the problem?
    Should i change MOBO ? Which one ?
