New Asus Laptop recommendation
Hopefully, this is the right location for this message. I am a long-time and satisfied user of a G74SX, still working flawlessly. I purchased for my Mrs. a Lenovo 730 a couple years ago, but there is a design defect that causes the screen to flicker, sometimes to the point of non-usability. I can go in and fix the problem, but only temporarily, and a permanent fix costs half again as much as I paid for the unit.
I am looking for a new replacement for the Lenovo, and would appreciate any recommendations from the ROG community. We do not need robust gaming power, but I want something running Win10 as I occasionally forget the AC adapter for my G74SX when traveling, and will use her machine to do video/photo editing, etc.
I am so disappointed with this Lenovo machine, that I will never purchase another. OTOH, a positive 9-year experience with one ASUS laptop does not necessarily indicate that a new ASUS will provide a similar positive experience.
The Mrs. basically uses her machine for zoom sessions and net surfing, and I, basically, want to just get her something so I am free from constantly having to open the Lenovo to 'fix' the screen flicker.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
