ROG Strix B550-E random reboots if DOCP enabled

Hi,

I have a ROG Strix B550-E with BIOS 1401.

If I enable DOCP the pc will randomly reboots when windows is idle or performing light workload such as browsing (not if I perform heavy workloads such as Folding@home).

If I leave it to auto the pc will be perfectly stable but the ram will run at 2133...

The CPU is a 3700x and all the others components including the ram worked perfectly with my previous board Asus Prime X470-Pro

My ram is a 2x16gb 3600 gskil kit: G.SKILL F4-3600C16D-32GVKC DDR3600 16-19-19-39 1T

The board arrived with bios 0805, I tried every BIOS from 0805 onwards.

Any idea?

Thank you

Maurizio

you can try to disable the automatic Reboot under W10

Maybe that helps.

Ok thank you

I tried let's see what will happen... i fear a blu screen

I used this guide

https://www.easeus.com/todo-backup-resource/how-to-stop-windows-10-from-automatically-restarting.htm...

Un update after a while

I changed the cpu to a 5800x.

If I set the ram to 3200 the system is fully stable

If I set the ram to 3600 now the usb mouse and keyboards start shuttering

I have spoken with other owners of b550 strix e and b550 strix xe and they have similar issues when settings ram to speed above 3200.

Please fix this

I have similar situation but mine is the B550 strix F motherboard
memory is Gskill 16*2Gb 3600Mhz 16-19-19-39

Only stable at 3200Mhz at 16-17-17-35
Once DOCP is on OR manually adjusting Ram clock, my system will shutdown randomly during usage like browsing internet, typing, etc...

we have the same ram I believe.

In my case setting the frequency to 3600 manually causes the issues as well as settings docp.

I also tried very loose timings but the issue remain

Typically you get WHEA (WHEA-logger) errors in the Windows system event log @ 3600

Most of these issues have been solved with the latest BIOS versions which contain the 1.1.9.0 and up AGESA versions. We are now on a 1.2.0.0 AGESA version as of yesterday, so suggest you download the latest BIOS version from your part of the Asus site. You should find this resolves the WHEA issues.

If you don't want to upgrade, you will need to set some of the voltages manually in order to achieve any stability.

I will upgrade the bios once a stable bios is released.

A user from another forum tried 1602 beta bios on b550 xe and issues were actually worst

"Most of these issues have been solved with the latest BIOS versions"

none of the new bios have fixed this problem
