G752VL Thunderbolt PCI-E Gen1 ??
Hello ,
I recently installed a eGPU( RX5700 XT)on my G752VL laptop and I did not see any big improvement's regarding the performance in games and started to dig more in the problem .
Seems the big issue is that the thunderbolt chipset has PCI-E Gen1 x4 connectivity .Checked both in windows and Linux that shows PCI-e 2.5Gt/s x4 .
If this is so then no way the thunderbolt can run at the stated 40Gb/s , the link between the CPU and the device connected via thunderbolt has them a max of 8Gb/s
