Changing Memory MHZ

I have a ROG Maximus XI Hero WIFI, BIOS version 1802. The memory is Corsair Vengeance PRO 2x8gb 3200mhz DDR4

In the BIOS the DRAM Frequency is set to AUTO, which in Task Manager memory shows 2133MHZ. With AUTO selected everything is great. Once I go back into the BIOS and set it 3200MHZ and when I am gaming, the game crashes to the desktop. Built the PC about a year ago and I had memory at AUTO the entire time. I just wanted to change the memory to 3200MHZ that the memory is capable of.

Is this normal for the PC to select a lower MHZ then what the memory is set for?

Is the memory MHZ lower and crashing the games since I only have 8pin EATX12V and not the 4pin and 8pin?

Hello,

Enter the UEFI and enable XMP Profile. This sets the parameters for the frequency and timings set by the memory vendor.
