Is my mainboard dead?
I have a computer with an Asus Z87M / G30AB rev.1.01 motherboard. I7-4770k processor. I can no longer start the computer. So I proceeded to replace the PSU but nothing works yet. On the motherboard, the green LED light indicates that there is power. I also replaced the CMOS battery because it was dead. I cleared CMOS with the jumper but nothing works yet. When I press the Power button, power led is ON on the front of the case, but the light goes out after a few seconds. No fans can operate. What should I check to bring this motherboard back to life? There is nothing apparent on the motherboard that indicates it is dead.

Renove processor from slot , clean it properly with soft cloth.
then remove waste paste from top of processor.
apply new good thermal paste to processor.
reinsert processor into slot.
now remove all RAM modules, clean the gold parts..and then reinsert it.
