Thanks. Yes, I’ll do that. The BIOS versions have been 1003 and 2004, I think. Not sure if there has been any 14.0.xx.xxxx though.
No matter what BIOS, MEI version, chipset version or clean Windows install, the behaviour is the same. Prior to this recent issue, I had about 6 trouble free months!

So, ASUS were a waste of time, just told me to go back to whoever sold it to me. So, I am doing an RMA on the board.
However, I bought a new Z590-F ROG STRIX and all is now good!
Clearly, it was a hardware issue after all.
Thanks for all your help.

Hi,
You're welcome.
You need these firmware/drivers for your new ASUS ROG Strix Z590-F Gaming WiFi motherboard :
[FIRMWARE] Intel ME (Z590)
[DRIVERS] Intel Chipset/MEI/SATA (1xx/2xx/3xx/4xx/5xx)
- Intel Chipset Drivers :Drivers - 1xx/2xx/3xx/4xx/5xx
- Intel MEI Drivers (Drivers Only)
- Intel SATA AHCI-RAID Drivers (Drivers Only) :Drivers - 4xx/5xx
[DRIVERS] Intel Ethernet/WiFi/Bluetooth
- Intel Ethernet Drivers (Drivers Only) :Drivers - I22x-V (2.5GbE)
- Intel WiFi Drivers (Drivers Only) :Drivers - 9xxx/AX2xx
- Intel Bluetooth Drivers (Drivers Only) :Drivers - 8xxx/9xxx/AX2xx
[DRIVERS] Realtek Audio (MB | Intel Z590 & AMD TRX40)
You have an ASUS ROG SS3|DTS Sound Unbound Intel motherboard, so :
You need Realtek USB Audio Drivers (UAD - ASUS ROG SS3-DTS Intel MB) from the first post of the thread.
Follow scrupulously your CLEANUP process then your INSTALL process, for the next drivers packages that I would release, you will can directly follow your UPDATE process.
You also need these drivers for your others stuff :
[DRIVERS] Samsung NVMe
[DRIVERS] NVIDIA GeForce GPU (6xx/7xx/8xx/9xx/10xx/16xx/20xx/30xx)

Thanks again.
I'm all up to date! (Most were there already.)
A question for you. Until today, I have been using a Creative Sound Blaster Z card, but due to the restricted slots in the Z590, I decided to try out the onboard audio.
Everything works OK, except, there is a delay of approximately half a second between an event, e.g. Windows dialogue box, and the sound being heard. This doesn't happen with my SB Z card.
Any ideas on that?

In order to try to fix your DPC latency issue, follow this process (also visible in TIPS at the bottom of all my audio drivers threads) :
1) Disable hibernation :
- Right-click Windows Start button then click Search.
- Search for cmd. In the search results list, right-click Command Prompt and then click Run as administrator.
- If/When you are prompted by User Account Control, click Continue.
- At the command prompt, type powercfg.exe /hibernate off and then press Enter then close the Command Prompt
2) Enable MSI (Message Signaled-based Interrupts) mode on all your supported devices (see the column "supported modes") with MSI Mode Utility (Right click on "MSI_util_v3.exe" > Run as administrator), then Apply, then close MSI Mode Utility & restart your PCLast edited by MoKiChU; 04-08-2021 at 04:51 PM.

Thanks a lot again. However, that made no difference. All devices with MSI ticked, and hibernate off, but still the half second delay in audio.
Do you mind me asking another question? My PC will not sleep when I have my 2 Virpil USB HOTAS controller devices plugged in. If I unplug them, everything is good. Any thoughts?

If you have already updated your drivers to the latest version (https://support.virpil.com/en/suppor...sion-20210102-), open a ticket at Virpil Support (this has nothing to do with ASUS products).

Thanks again.
The Virpil devices don't have drivers, settings are all stored in firmware. It was a long shot. Just thought I'd ask. (BTW, Virpil say it's a Windows thing.)
More importantly, do you have any further ideas on the annoying audio lag?

I should say, that it's not so much a lag with the audio, it seems to be just a delay in starting. It's almost as if the device is asleep and that there is a little delay waking it up when the system calls on it.
