Z490-E Gaming mobo and 2 NVME drives

Hi

I have 2 NVME drives I want to use on this mobo. One as a boot drive and one as a game storage drive. *
Does it matter which slots occupy the NVME drives? The manual has me confused.

Well XpertXP,

Make sure that you install the NVMe device for optimum speed configuration (x4). It's up to you rather you want faster reading/write times for Windows or for games. The slot is M2_2. When you insert the second NVMe component it will be working in PCIe mode as well (M2_1). In the manual it's page "xi".
