Fix to coilwhine on Maximus Hero XIII

Is this an issue on all the Hero boards ? cuz i just made an RMA and will get a new board soon !

- Hi, from what i'm seeying i think it is... Mine I just noticed it after 3 months of use, but don't know if it was already there in the beginning.
In the meantime i'm using:

Acoustic Noise Mitigation: Enabled
Pre Wake/Ramp up/Ramp down time settings: all to 0
IA VR Domain: FALSE, FAST/4
GT VR Domain: FALSE, FAST/4
SA VR Domain: FALSE, FAST/4

and it goes away the noise. if I use FAST/2 it's still audible.

- Anyone knows the difference between FALSE and TRUE and the /2 /4 /8 in the settings?? I can't see any difference if I use TRUE or FALSE, don't know what is the best setting...

I recently bought Asus TUF Z590 Plus WiFi (sorry for posting here, can't find TUF forum) and 11700K. The MB itself makes almost no sound, BUT my RTX 2070 Super started making VERY loud coil whine in games with a new MB. Previously it was working just fine with 9700K and MSI MPG Z390 Gaming MB. I tried toggling all videocard- and PCIe-related settings at BIOS, tried all software hacks in Windows (vsync, g-sync, frame limiters etc). For now I ordered a new PSU (850W Platinum) because now I have 700W Bronze. But I am afraid that this problem is not related to the PSU, because the videocard have only very slight coil whine in Prime95 + FurMark. Does anyone faced the same issue?

I just got another new hero xiii board and it also has coil noise..not that high like the first one..so there is different on each board how noisy it is. In a full closed case with several fans i dont hear it at all.

Btw where do i find Acoustic Noise Mitigation in bios ???

Or are we ment to have it for ever and it cant be fixed ??

Hi there, it's in ADVANCED/CPU OPTIONS (or something)/ NOISE MITIGATION.
I'm doing OK this weekes using it enabled with FAST/4 in the 3 options. No more wine this settings.
Still don't know the diference between FALSE and TRUE... Both seems to work. Using FALSE btw.

Found it but it dident help at all..no matter what i changed the outcome to. Then i still hear the coil noise. But only when i open the case removing the side panel and listen to the cpu area moving the mouse. The coil noise i slike a morse code..you can hear it ramps among with the cpu changing between idle and load. When i stress test the cpu in any benchmark tool then you cant hear the coil while..seems like putting the cpu on load fixes it, But then you need to set a manual cpu clock and disable the turbo modes and have ur cpu run constant at 5.0 ghx or so..that is not optimal for a mobo to over 500 $. So it has something to do with the volt somewhere out of my understanding. I hope a bios can fix it ans that asus is taking this serious !!

Hi @Psycrow have tried various combinations in the noise mitigation settings? Like FALSE/4 or FALSE/8 or TRUE/8 etc... ?? Just saing because @ FALSE/2 I still hear wine but @ /4 I don't.
Ha, and C-STATES ON or OFF doesn't do anything for me. It wines the same.
I don't think is there any onther solution!? Maybe ASUS should give a glimpse of an ideia about this...

So is there any write up on noise mitigation in the bios? What it does, are there negative side effects to using it, etc.?

I havent tryed to change teh true/false, but i did change numers only..ill try change true false value.
Also i would like to hear about the side effects..like do our mobo become defective after a time ? like 2 years ?
