Hi, I was sliding my PC over (powered off but plugged in) and I accidentally triple pressed the cmos button rapidly on the I/O back panel of my Maximus VIII Gene. I know it resets the BIOS to default but will it have caused any damage?

No, all that button should do is cause a discharge so settings are forgotten. Doing it multiple times won't behave any differently.

Thank you! When clearing it do I need to unplug the power supply or is powering the system off enough?
