Exclamation G531GW Interference noise with any earbuds

    Hello everyone,

I have a new ROG ASUS Notebook Rog Strix G531GW Monitor 15.6", from only like 6-7 months.
I always had this problem with any earbuds that i have to connect with audio jack on the notebook: i hear this Interference noise that is very annoying. I tried to change airbuds but the problem remain, i dont know what to do.
The notebook didnt take any damage, 0.

Do you think that the sound card is faulty? Any headset usb or bluetooth that I use don't have problems, only the earbuds that I have to connect via the audio jack.

    Please help me.

    thank you

A hum can be due to a poor ground or minor short. Unless you can see the internals of the jack are bent it would probably require opening the machine to inspect for wiring faults.

yeah I can't see anything inside. Do you suggest me to open it? I dont know if is a good idea, for the warranty i mean.
I open notebooks everyday because is my job, i work for it, but they are offices computer not gaming and i dont know if i'll open this the warranty will still be good or not.

    What do you suggest?

I can't really advise you on Italian/EU warranty limitations as I don't know. It would be good to read the warranty terms for your region. But if you are still under warranty then the best move would be to just create an RMA and let ASUS handle it.

If you decide to check for yourself: My experience with headphone jacks is that they are often fully encased in a small plastic housing so you may not be able to see much if it has an internal fault. I would look for obvious issues like bad solder joints or anything bridging the connections that doesn't look like it should be there.
