I've had outstanding success with 3601. CPU runs 5-10C cooler than previously. I'm able to reach a stable 4.5Ghz all-core OC (@1.289VCore) on my 5950X which I wasn't able to before. And I can run my Micron E-die 3600 (4 DIMMS) at 3800 and 1900MHz FCLK 12 hour memtest stable without a single error. Been running this way for 2 weeks now. No complaints on 3601 for me.

I've been testing 3601 those days and overall it's a keeper.
My four sticks dual rank GSkill F4-3200C16Q-GVK (64GB) still cannot run at their advertised speeds, 3200Mhz.
But at 3000Mhz they are now finally stable, before I had cold boot issues but with 3601 they disappeared.

I did have to redo the whole timings and voltage settings, and by doing so I noticed something weird.
My system boots with vsoc at 1.08 volts but not stable. When going higher, the system won't boot at all UNTIL I reach 1.15 vsoc, then it starts again to boot.
So there is a "vsoc hole".
I finally found stability around 1.17 volt, with some vdroop because zen timings report it at 1.1625 volt.

Strange behavior that didn't occur before, got this board since december 2019.

    Cheers.

3601 works okay for me, I guess... I still haven't been able to alleviate my USB connectivity issues with my Dark Hero though. Every now and then my CPU temp will spike and it will coincide with the loss of connection for my Stream Deck XL and a few other components.

I am running a RTX 3090 and dual M.2 NVME SSDs all at PCIe 4.0... Maybe it can't handle all the gen 4?

Check if you have both CPU ATX connections on the motherboard (top left) connected recently read few reports that connection of both resolved RAM DOCP cold boot issue. Not sure it is accurate but cant hurt trying if you have only one connected and the PSU can connect both.

Yep, saw that comment yesterday in the B550 thread.
Instantly looked at my board, and yes - both are connected.
The PSU is however a bit dated, XFX-750-BES Seasonic MD12 platform 750W.
Wouldn't want to change it, the PSU has been rock solid for years.

I also briefly looked at other boards, for example Aorus Master, my mem kit (four sticks) is on their QVL list while Asus doesn't list four sticks on it's QVL, only two.
    Both boards use daisychain topology.

    Cheers.

seasonic is one brand that are great till the end (a few dud's), got 1000w one well over 10 years still running strong (had one fan change).

try 2 sticks (from CPU slots 2 & 4) first till boot at higher DOCP speed than add other two (might work around the issue) and SOC manually 1.05, 1.1 or 1.15. Only other ideas which may have already done.

Vendor specific are just what manufacturer has tested themselves and doubt there would be much difference as memory controller is in the cpu. If you have timings used by gigabyte board you could manually put them in asus one and try that.
look at https://www.amd.com/en/products/ryze...-gen-amd-ryzen and if on this than AMD tested it.

You could also look at using ryzen dram calculator https://www.techpowerup.com/download...am-calculator/ which posted how to use more than once on here but not kept invested in current use as I'm happy with my setup's.

What kind of timings are you running on the E-die? I'm running the same chips at 3800/1900 but haven't had much luck with tighter timings.

You mean 5-10C less with the same BIOS settings?
Did you used .CMO files from older BIOS or set all again?

I've used .CMO from last beta BIOS and my temps have grown 4-5C instead of lowering.

    PCIe slot 1 bifurcation options

I'm not sure when it happened, but I just noticed that in 3601 that bifurcation is now also supported on the first PCIe slot! I'm happy!

A question, if I use all x16 lanes in PCIe slot 1, but don't use M2.1 and hence have x4 remaining lanes, can those unused x4 lanes be routed to PCIe slot 2?
