New Bios for Crosshair Dar Hero

Hi,

Do you guys know when Asus will release a new BIOS for Dark Hero, not the 3501 beta?

I have been using 3501 beta for a while and I noticed my system resets itself from time to time. It did not happen with the previous version (3401).
I checked event viewer and the problem is in the infinity fabric. I did not do much on overclock. The infinity fabric is locked to my RAM at 1800MHz.

The usb performance has improved in 3501 beta. However, the infinity fabric has got more problems.

Thanks,

Hello,

The fabric itself and it's behaviour will remain static between builds. System stability can change, however. Especially between AGESA builds, or if the condition of the overclock was marginal.

Did you make note of memory petametres set? Including VSOC voltage, sub timings etc.

BIOS 3601 is available for the Dark Hero. It is marked as BETA (not sure where), but posters on other sites have said that it is in fact the next STABLE release. I've been running it for over 10 days on my C8H and it has been rock solid stable, have been getting 5025 MHz boost clocks, stable 4.5GHz all-core OC, and have reached 3800MHz MCLK with 1900 FCLK 12 hour stable on MemTest. It's a winner for me for sure. Give it a shot. I can assure you it will not brick your board and you can always flash back.

Affirmative, been running 3601 since Shamino released it, haven't had a single glitch as of yet. Only difference to earlier bios was I had to raise DrvStr a bit from earlier bioses. 3800MHz mem, 5025MHz boost on four cores, no core boost below 4800MHz, all core is 4500MHz+, using PBO. USB is working good too.

Well, I did not record the parameters.

I think the AGESA in 3501 beta did change something. I ran my RAM at 4000MHz with 5800X stably with 3401 but my 5950X can only run the RAM at 3600MHz with 3501 beta.

The strength of the IF depends on the CPU sample. If you're comparing two different CPUs across two different builds, that's going to bring up the disparity you're experiencing

Crosshair VIII Dark Hero BIOS 3601 NON-BETA was posted on the Asus support site (US) today. I don't know if its any different than the beta version.

excatly the same as the beta 😉

With my memory, this release is a disaster as it won't set the correct voltage no matter would number you put in the field. Seems to only support 1.22V max at this stage rather than the 1.35V target I need. Suggests 3601 was rushed with little testing!

3601 is another solid BIOS, no complaints here.
