2070 Super hard freezing, don't know how to trouble shoot

Hey,

I got a 2070 super off newegg early 2020, and I've been having issues where my computer completely locks up on a frame and requires a hard restart to get going again.

This happens when I'm playing dota a fair bit, sometimes it's every couple minutes, other times I'll play for days with no freezing.

My graphics drivers are up to date, I've tried monitoring my system to see if there is anything leading up to the event like heat, but that doesn't appear to be the case, voltages also appear to be stable, and it doesn't happen specifically during moments of increased load.

I'm not sure what to do because I don't have any feedback as to what the problem is when I have to hard restart when it occurs.

Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Alex

Hello frisbop,

Welcome to the ROG forum !

I presume you have the ROG Strix 2070 Super.

If your system is running at default settings, what comes to mind is your psu.

Asus/Nvidia recommends a minimum of a 650w psu, and are you using two separate 8-pin pcie power cables?

What psu do you have?
